About the Jewish Federation of New Mexico

The purpose of the Jewish Federation of New Mexico is to help ensure Jewish survival by understanding and serving the needs of Jews locally, nationally and worldwide, and by supporting and promoting the development of a strong Jewish community.

To achieve that, the Federation:

• Coordinates and plans for the development of a strong and viable local Jewish community.

• Raises and allocates funds for local, national and overseas Jewish communal needs.

• Develops and encourages active community leadership.

• Supports the State of Israel by enabling its people to live in freedom, security and peace.

• Represents concerns of the Jewish community to the larger world.

• Assists in the resettlement of Jewish refugees while fighting for the human rights of oppressed Jewry.

• Plays a role in state, national and international Jewish life.

JFNM is a part of United Jewish Communities, which works with local Federations across the U.S. and around the world.
